Insectoids

Reported insectoid entities, often mantis-like, appear in modern abduction and contact accounts from the 1980s onward. Less common than Greys; reportedly associated with a directing or supervising role.

The reported morphology is distinctive: a tall, thin frame, elongated limbs, a triangular or chitinous head, and large angled eyes — most often likened to a praying mantis, though beetle-like variants appear in the record. Witnesses frequently describe these beings not as participants but as overseers, standing apart from the smaller figures and exercising what is reported as a directing or supervising role. A recurring note in the testimony is an impression of detachment or clinical authority rather than menace.

The insectoid type is a comparatively recent and uncommon entry, surfacing chiefly in abduction and contact accounts from the 1980s onward and explored in the research of Whitley Strieber and David Jacobs. It has no clear deep mythological lineage, which sets it apart from the reptilian and Nordic forms.

This material is testimony, and often hypnotically retrieved testimony at that, with the methodological caveats that carries. We record what is described, by whom and when, and hold each account against its source. We do not assert that the encounters occurred; we catalogue that they are reported.
