Reptilians
Reptile-featured humanoid reported morphology, with claims of shape-shifting and infiltration of human institutions.
ALSO KNOWN AS: Reptoids · Lizard People · Draco
Reports of reptile-featured humanoid entities are present in mythological record across cultures. Modern claims attaching to figures of state remain controversial and unsupported by primary evidence.
The reported morphology is a humanoid frame with reptilian features: scaled or leathery skin, vertically slit pupils, and in some accounts a tail or a crest. The serpentine humanoid is among the oldest figures in the human imagination, recurring in the iconography of many ancient cultures — from the serpent deities of Mesoamerica and Mesopotamia to the nāga of South Asian tradition — which gives this typology a far deeper mythological lineage than the modern abduction-era forms.
Two strands therefore need to be held apart. The first is that long folkloric and iconographic record. The second is the contemporary conspiracy claim — popularised principally by David Icke from the 1990s — that shape-shifting reptilian beings occupy positions of power within human institutions. That latter claim attaches to named public figures, remains unsupported by any primary evidence, and has been widely criticised for echoing older antisemitic tropes; we note this plainly.
We catalogue what is reported and trace where each strand sits in the record. We do not present the conspiracy material as established fact, and we keep the documented trail distinct from the testimony and the folklore.
